Farragut West Station
The Farragut West Station is located in downtown Washington DC. The metro station opened on July 1, 1977 and serves the Orange and Blue Lines. The station is near the White House, the International Monetary Fund, the National Geographic Society, and the World Bank.
Farragut West is the fourth-busiest station in the Metro system. The station has two entrances on I Street at 17th and 18th Street NW. The 17th Street entrance closes at midnight on Monday to Thursday, at 3:00 a.m. on Friday, and is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Although Farragut West Station is only a block away from the Farragut North Station, there is no direct pedestrian passageway tunnel connecting the two stations.

Metro is the subway system connecting Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland. The system is operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA).
