Spy Museum

The International Spy Museum is dedicated to the field of espionage. The museum tells the story of spies, intelligence operations and deceptions that changed the course of history.

While most guests enjoy the general exhibition, SPY offers two other experiences: Operation Spy and Spy in the City. Operation Spy is an interactive mission that lasts one hour and guests must be 12 or older. Spy in the City is a GPS-based interactive device that leads guests on an outdoor mission.

The museum is located in Chinatown across the street from the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Verizon Center.

Hours of Operation

Monday - Sunday
9 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Guests can enjoy less-crowded exhibitions when visiting the museum early or late during the Spring and Summer touring season.

The Museum tends to be busier on weekends. If you can only visit on a weekend, plan to arrive early or later in the afternoon to avoid crowds and lines.

Holiday weekends are also popular at the Spy Museum. Guests may expect outside lines and a wait of up to an hour to enter the exhibit space with timed tickets.<//p>

Admission

Since the museum is a privately owned and operated completely independent of tax money or government funding, there is an admission fee.

Parking

Limited street parking is available on 9th, 10th, F and G Streets, NW and throughout the neighborhood. Spaces are metered with a two-hour maximum. Please note that there are no spaces specifically reserved for handicap parking on the block immediately surrounding the Museum.
