The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial is located directly above the Judiciary Square Station on the Red line of the Metro System. The station has two exits; make sure to exit the station through the "F Street Exit".

The memorial is also accessible via the Gallery Place-Chinatown Station (Red, Green and Yellow lines), but you will have to walk a longer distance. Gallery Place has three exits; leave the station through the "7th and G Street/Arena Exit". Use the map and directions below to find suggested routes to the memorial.

The Memorial

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial honors law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. The Memorial features two curving, 304-foot-long marble walls. Carved on these walls are the names of nearly 19,000 officers who have been killed in the line of duty throughout U.S. history, dating back to the first known death in 1791.

Unlike many other memorials in Washington DC, the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial is ever-changing: new names of fallen officers are added to the monument each spring, in conjunction with National Police Week.

Hours of Operation

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and there is no charge to visit.

Tours

Two types of tours are available:

Self-guided tour: Visitors are encouraged to pick up a Memorial brochure in one of the four directory stands at the site. The brochure includes a fold-out map with a self-guided walking tour of some of the highlights of the Memorial. In addition, there is a free cell phone audio tour that is available by calling 202-747-3461. A Memorial Fund staff member is often on site during regular business hours to help answer questions.

Group tour: The Memorial Fund offers free group tours of the Memorial, led by knowledgeable staff or volunteers. To schedule a group tour, call 202-737-3400.
