The U.S. Botanic Garden also has a Children's Garden, where children of all ages can play with water, dig in garden beds, water the plants, and touch and smell the flowers. If you want your pre-schoolers (ages 3-5) to learn more, take them to Sprouts, a free weekly workshop offered each month.

Each session includes various activities such as a story, songs, art activity, or walk in the garden. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Check USBG.org for dates and topics. The Sprouts classes fill up very quickly!
