The Hirshhorn Museum & Sculpture Garden is near the L’Enfant Plaza Station. Make sure to leave the station through the "Maryland Avenue/Smithsonian Museums" Exit (at 7th & Maryland Avenue). The station has three exits and you could end up blocks from your destination if you leave through the wrong exit.

The Hirshhorn museum is also accessible via the Smithsonian Station. The Smithsonian station has two exits; leave the station through the "12th St & Independence Ave" Exit. Use the map and directions below to find suggested routes to the museum.

From L’Enfant Plaza Metro Station
Approximately 0.2 mile, 4 min walk

Hirshhorn Museum

The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden features international, modern and contemporary art, cutting-edge films, and a collection of sculptures by Rodin, Matisse, and Moore on the plaza and in the garden.

The museum is located on the National Mall at the corner of 7th Street and Independence Avenue SW.

Hours of Operation

The Hirshhorn Museum & Sculpture Garden opens daily except on December 25.

Museum: 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Plaza: 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Garden: 7:30 a.m. - Dusk

Photography

The Hirshhorn does not allow videotaping inside the museum. Photography without the use of a flash is allowed only in the Hirshhorn's collection galleries and not within special exhibitions, unless otherwise noted.

Flash photography is prohibited at all times. Tripods are not permitted inside the Museum or Sculpture Garden.

Accessibility

The Hirshhorn Museum has wheelchairs that may be borrowed, free of charge, for use within the building. The wheelchairs, which are all manually operated, may not be taken outside of the Museum.

The wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. To borrow a wheelchair, go to the Museum's information desk and request a loaner. The information desk attendant may help you directly or send you to the nearby Security Desk. You will be asked to leave identification until you return the wheelchair.
