U.S. Citizens must have a visa to travel to Belarus. A valid U.S. Passport is also required. You may obtain a visa in advance to travel or transit through Belarus.
U.S. Citizens traveling or residing in Belarus are required to register with the local office of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Ministry of Interior (formerly OVIR) within 5 business days of arrival; if you plan to spend up to 7 calendar days (5 working days and weekend) in Belarus, you are not required to register. If staying in a hotel, this will be arranged by the hotel services (reception bureau).
